Here’s an inspiring story of how one person is creating more colorful tomorrows for those in need.

Marge Reilly
Marge Reilly is a great example of doing a lot of little things that add up to one BIG contribution. For starters, she participated in a 50 mile bike ride fund raiser to benefit the Tomorrow’s Children Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. “It took me three and a half hours and that last hour was really tough going, but I finished," exclaimed Marge. Marge also volunteers her time at a homeless overflow shelter sponsored by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Ridgewood, NJ and has been a member of the Bergen County Crisis Response Team. "The team is a group of local volunteers on call to respond to victims of domestic violence," said Marge.

When it comes to family, Marge is always there with a helping hand. “My step-daughter, Sarah, has a learning disability and is an alumna of the ECLC School in Ho-ho-kus, NJ," Marge explained. ECLC provides special education for children ages five through 21. The students have severe learning and/or language disabilities, autism, or multiple disabilities. “The parents volunteer and help arrange special social events, like a New Years Eve party and dinner. These kids really have nowhere to go so we make an effort to provide a safe place to gather and have some fun," she said.

Marge has also taught religious instruction classes to children and teens who attend public schools, as well as one-on-one tutoring for special needs children. “I love it when they ask me questions, because spiritual formation is so critical at that age," said Marge. Marge’s volunteerism and positive attitude embodies the true spirit and mission of CTF.
