Here’s an inspiring story of how one person is creating more colorful tomorrows for those in need.

Ron Giovino
Ron is the president of the Medford Invitational Tournament (a non-profit organization) and a thirteen year employee of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. Each August, they run a two week baseball tournament for teams in the greater Boston area. Last year, they held their first annual "Challenger Day" for the Challenger Division of Little League Baseball. The Challenger Division is dedicated to helping young athletes with mental and physical disabilities enjoy the game of baseball.

In its first year, "Challenger Day" had almost thirty young participants which was almost doubled for this year's event. Ron and the entire Konica Minolta Business Solutions Boston Branch volunteered to help out with the game day activities. In its second year, participation grew to over fifty kids. They enjoyed a game of baseball, had lunch, and received trophies and prizes courtesy of local vendors including Konica Minolta. Ron’s co-workers from the Boston sales office were again happy to volunteer their time to help the kids play baseball.

"The two inning game was filled with loads of fun and even a few celebration dances, too. The kids had a great time! It was such a great success that we have made it a permanent part of our event. It truly was the greatest baseball game I have ever seen," said Ron.

Ron's volunteerism and positive attitude embodies the true spirit and mission of the CTF.
